Design that has emotional connection is what creates brand loyalty. And it's what I love doing.
I designed "le jardin" to be a place of inspiration – welcoming friends to dine al fresco, a space to relax, recharge, and feel good.
Anne Gadd Grandy
I graduated from The Ohio State University with a BS in Industrial Design and shifted with great enthusiasm to visual design. After working for a few agencies, I started my own practice, Egadd. Whether B2B or B2C, good design comes from being informed and solving the right problems. I came to realize the most successful work is based on universal human truths. This has to be at the heart of any solution.
After 10 years, I went on to full time roles with WebEx, then Cisco – and moved from print into digital media and user experience.
At my core, I am a conceptual designer. Design thinking has to be a holistic way of problem solving based in empathy and awareness. Customer journey mapping is a way to more fully grasp a customer's experience and create relevant solutions. I ask a lot of questions to figure out what the problem is, concept quickly, and get feedback and data. I believe in listening to the data to use that information wisely. Then iterate, test, and optimize – it's always a work in progress. Do I care? Yes, I do. Because solving problems beautifully creates work that resonates on a human level.
